March 5, 1942 - April 10, 2023
Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the age of 81, after a recent diagnosis of bone marrow cancer. Beloved husband of Nancy Jackson. Cherished father of Barbara Hill (Jason), Jonathan Jackson (Samantha), and H. Allen Jackson (Jenny), and loving grandfather of Anna, Christopher, Jackson, Ellen, Caitlyn, Rachel, Benjamin, and Emily. Survived by his sister Marion Nielsen (Anker), and niece Maria.
Harold was a long-standing member of The Rotary Club of Guelph, served on the board with the Victorian Order of Nurses, and a tenor in the First St. Andrews Church, Guelph Chamber and St. George’s Anglican Church choirs.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at First St. Andrew’s United Church, 350 Queens Avenue, London, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with visiting the hour prior. A reception in the church will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Harold’s name may be made to the Rotary International Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or VON Canada.

For several decades, Hal championed Rotary's support for the annual Waterloo Wellington Science & Engineering Fair for students in Grade 7-12.
On April 11th, 2023, the very day we heard of Hal's passing, this fair took place for its 50th time. Hal is well remembered and appreciated by many of the fair's longstanding organizers. He would have been delighted to see this year's wonderful fair with so many motivated students, teachers, parents, judges and organizers inspiring the next generation.
