Just three weeks after holding their 39th Annual Rotary Duck Race on August 28, 2026, the Rotary Club of Guelph Wellington held their prizegiving on September 21st. The event's success this year was best ever and remarkable for a club of just nine members. All proceeds have been donated to the community. (See below) We warmly congratulate and thank our friends at the Rotary Club of Guelph Wellington for their positive impact and support of local youth. Onward and upward to the 40th Rotary Duck Race in 2027!
With a stretch goal of selling 7,500 duck tickets for the 2026 Duck Race, they actually sold 7,433, awarded 10 race prizes totalling $22,000 in value, gave $26,200 to the Guelph Minor Hockey Association for selling 85% of this year's duck tickets, and presented a $50,000 donation to the Children's Foundation “Keep Kids Fed At Home” program. To date, this Rotary Club has donated an astonishing $182,000 to this Rotary-inspired weekend and holiday food program for local children. By engaging young hockey players in this fundraiser to help fund their own sports program while also supporting severely food-insecure kids in Guelph (who might even be classmates), positive values are instilled and reinforced that strengthen our community wellbeing. It's a great demonstration of Rotary in action.
