Three Rotary Clubs in our Guelph-Wellington Cluster (Guelph Trillium, Guelph, and Guelph South) worked together to host a special meeting of non-profit agencies in Guelph, which was attended by 48 organizations, on April 23, 2026. There was a real buzz in the room as they networked and shared their main needs. The goal was to foster connection and collaboration. The meeting was a great success and a great example of  how we can Unite For Good.

This event was hosted by Rotary as a community service.

It was Rotary's third time of hosting such a meeting. This time round, the organizers feel they have come to the right ‘formula’ to achieve maximum benefit for participating agencies. Moving forward, two Community Connections meetings are planned per year, one in April and one in September.

At our April 2026 meeting, the “panel of experts” we invited was Toward Common Ground (for research and data), GrantSimple (for managing grant applications), and The Carpenters' Crew (the remarkable group of men who give their hands-on effort for free to help charities build or fix things).

Word travels fast. The Rotary organizers are already getting requests from local non-profits to get on or stay on our Guelph invitation list, and also inquiries from other Rotary Clubs in Canada asking how we did this so they can do the same thing in their own communities.

Here are details about this event, as explained in the meeting invitation.

As a community service, Rotary is hosting another free “Guelph Community Connections” meeting for local charities and non-profits on:

We hope that you and/or a representative from your organization will attend this meeting to:

·      Learn from our guest speakers

·      Connect and reconnect with other non-profits and services

·      Catch up on what is happening locally

·      Share needs and ideas

·      Explore ways that we can help each other

Here’s how we’ll spend the two hours together:

·      One-minute self-introductions by participants – who you are, your organization name and what it does, your organization’s current wish list or recent success

·      Hear from a panel of experts that may be valuable resources to you

·      Freely mix and mingle to follow up with anyone or anything that caught your interest during the brief introductions
