Marva Wisdom, a member of the Rotary Club of Guelph for over 19 years and our incoming Club President for Rotary Year 2025-2026 beginning July 1st, is once again being recognized for being the incredible person she is. She is one of eight recipients who will soon receive an Honourary Degree from the University Guelph. See the Guelph Today story.
Marva is receiving an LL.D degree:
Doctor of Laws (LL.D.): Awarded for significant and extraordinary contributions or service to society, the University or community as a whole; or, to a profession or discipline concerned with service to the community.
"Guelph’s Marva Wisdom will soon add yet another major honour to her resume. She is one of eight people who will be awarded an honourary degree at the University of Guelph, to be presented during convocation June 9 to 13. Wisdom is a longtime volunteer in the city, and referred to by U of G as a national leader, community builder and lifelong advocate for justice and inclusion. She is the founding chair and former president of the Guelph Black Heritage Society, and was named to the Order of Ontario in 2023."
