Many children have fallen behind in their skills due to the lengthy school closures in the last couple of years. Brant Avenue Public School in Guelph is looking for volunteers who would be willing to come to the school and read with primary students (ages 5-9) once a week, to inspire and encourage the students.
The Brant students have not had the same opportunities as those in other areas of the Guelph community. They love to have connections with caring adults and time to read with them!
The principal at Brant is Hayley Furii, the daughter of a Guelph Rotarian. If you can help by being a reader or want more information, please reach out to Hayley. You can even ask for just a visit to see what it would involve.
