The Career Education Council (CEC) of Guelph and Wellington is looking for real-life business challenges from small or large businesses, in any sector, to be worked on during a one-day workshop for grade 11-12 students. The workshop is a structured learning experience to develop the students' Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (I.C.E.) skills. Participating businesses can benefit from receiving fresh, young ideas from eager students!
Did you know that the wonderful CEC organization was founded by the Rotary Club of Guelph in the 1990s, to support Vocational Service?
Today, the Career Education Council is a registered charitable organization based in Guelph, Wellington, and Dufferin dedicated to providing youth with meaningful opportunities for exploring careers, building skills, and learning in a hands-on environment. They collaborate extensively with local employers, educators, and community partners to provide resources that will help youth to make more informed choices about their future education, training, and employment pathway.
Participating in an ICE workshop allows students to gain an SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) accreditation towards their Ontario Secondary School diploma.
If you’re interested in sharing a business challenge that might benefit from young ideas, or co-facilitating a SHSM workshop,or sharing your career-related experiences with youth in high school, please reach out to Ashley Isenberg at ashleyi@careereducationcouncil.ca.
