Many of us have concerns about the safety of the vaccines against Covid-19;  Novel technologies, accelerated development, and regulatory approvals for emergency use that are unprecedented raise a lot of questions from many people. With over forty years of work in the vaccine field, Dr. Liliana Chocarro is uniquely qualified to talk about  COVID-19 vaccines, to give you the facts and alleviate your fears.

Dr. Chocarro has worked in vaccine regulation, development/production & quality control, quality assurance, transition from R&D to production of clinical lots, and regulatory pathways. She has experience as a regulator, as a consultant to industry, to regulatory authorities, the International Vaccine Institute, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation [BMGF], and as a Senior staff and expert consultant to the World Health Organization. Established the African Vaccine Regulatory Forum (AVAREF) that created legal frameworks and processes for regulation of clinical trials in Africa.  She is now working as an expert consultant to WHO helping coordinate activities related to the assessment of Covid-19 vaccines.

And Dr. Liliana is one of us. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar. She helped the Government of Roatan - through the Rotary Club of Roatan to create an outreach program, teaching community leaders how to stop the transmission of Covid-19, advised her Club about measures and activity planning in compliance with prevention of Covid-19 transmission, and has given talks about vaccines to a few Rotary and Probus clubs. Liliana was granted a Paul Harris Award in 2020 for her contributions. Please join us to hear Liliana give us some insights about Covid-19 transmission, prevention, and vaccines.
