Our Environment Committee meets once a month for one hour and welcomes current and potential members, any time.
Rotary International declared in 2020 that Protecting the Environment would become its 7th Area of Focus.  The Rotary Club of Guelph had already been leading the way on protecting the environment for over 25 years before that declaration.  In fact, our inspirational Rotary Forest and Centennial Projects won awards and recognition from Rotary International.
Our Club has an active Environment Committee focused on the creation and implementation of impactful projects while remaining open to new ideas and responding to needs in our community.

  • To develop and deliver projects which enhance the quality of the local environment and quality of life in Guelph.
  • Current project is a 4-year commitment to create the new Hanlon Creek Forest in partnership with Trees For Guelph, and the City of Guelph.  This project involves the planning of a large community event on the Saturday closest to Earth Day each spring.  The event includes an environmental fair with educational booths, entertainment, food, and of course tree planting.
