Join us to hear from an expert about the harmful effects of chemicals and substances on living organisms and the environment. In particular, learn more about the mercury contamination affecting some First Nations communities in Canada. 

Our guest speaker will be Guelph’s Dr. Ashish Sachan who has been involved with toxicological sciences for more than twenty years in both university and industrial settings.

Dr. Sachan is a veterinarian licensed in Toxicology by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. He earned his Bachelor’s in Veterinary Medicine, and a Master’s degree in Veterinary Pharmacology, from the Veterinary College in Bangalore, India. His Ph.D. in “Toxicology” was earned in 2012 from Iowa State University, USA. In 2013, he settled in Guelph with his wife and two children.
