Mahmud Hasssain happily welcomed the visiting Rotarians from Cameroon, and since it is World Cup season, Mahmud warmly recalled the famous Cameroonian soccer player Roger Milla and his celebratory dance. Sadly, Mahmud reported that our member Matt Williams has been injured in a sporting accident.
Our visiting Rotarians from Cameroon presented their club banner to our club, and received one from us in return.

Michele Richardson is happy that their youngest daughter graduated from the University of Toronto this week.
Don Parr is happy to announce that he and Ruth will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary in a few days’ time.
Jim Stevens said he had really enjoyed the Rotary Rewind with Joe Valeriote last week and went on to share how Joe, a tool and die expert, had suddenly become a silicon rubber expert when opportunity came knocking.
Rosemary Clark thanked everyone for their kind wishes and support after her mishap the week before when she injured her leg which required surgery. She is well on the road to recovery!
KC Tam is happy to have a second grandbaby, a beautiful baby girl.

Marva and Tracey co-hosted today’s Canada Day Kickoff with warm compliments for the outstanding committee support they have enjoyed this year. They recognized and thanked many individuals for their special contributions,
Mahmud was deemed the best dressed today for Canada Day (his snazzy maple leaf socks clinched the decision!) and he earned a small prize.
Mary DuQuesnay described her role in organizing the entertainment for Canada Day, plus the games for seniors. She has also been kept busy coordinating the Site Plan, Electrical Plan, Non-Food Vendors, and more.
Marva is happy that we are able to host a Citizenship Ceremony in the park again this year.
Matt Webster gave a quick overview of the marketing communications he has been working on – radio, newsprint and online.
Michele Richardson assured everyone that they would live at least 25 more years by volunteering at Canada Days, and said please sign up – we are still looking for more volunteers.
