IN THIS BULLETIN...

Last Friday, May 31st, we had out committee chairs pitch their committees to our members.

Barb Holmes discussed Rotary's involvement in supporting youth programs. This includes both Vocational Services, Educational Services, and Career Education Council, highlighting their work with local employers and service providers.

The Rotary Club of Guelph has worked with children and youth since its early days, with current programs including Reading Buddies and Food for Kids, and support for Shelldale Gateway and The Grove.

Laurie Jones shared insights on the growth of the Grove, a community support program for children. Paul Dredge and others have been involved in the program, which has helped young people overcome many different challenges.

Marty Fairbairn, Chair of the Lobster Fest Committee, explained how members of this committee plan and coordinate the club's Lobster Fest event. He also emphasized the need for volunteers for cooking and serving the day of the eent.

Eleni Bakopoulos, the Chair of the Indigenous Awareness Committee, shared updates on their events and initiatives. She encouraged members that are interested to join their committee.

Matt Webster provided an overview of subcommittees under Avenue of Club Service, including Meetings, Programs, Membership Experience, and Promotion. He highlighted how committee members need help in all of these areas to keep the club operating effectively.

Dave Latreille spoke next about the environment committee co-chaired by Irene Szabo and Carolyn Weatherson. This committee has been partnering with city of Guelph and other organizations to reforest 10 acres of land in the city. Throughout the year, the committee plans the Earth Day event, film nights, tree planting, and Habitat for Humanity projects.

Janette Hogan spoke on the new member social and fellowship aspects of Rotary.

Janette Hogan and Jules Croskill are also the new co-chairs of the Sparkles Committee. The Committee is looking for volunteers for various tasks, including light testing and setup/teardown.

Finally, Brian Martin discussed revitalizing international service within the club. Martin aims to kick off a 5-year vision with the district. Brian also seeks to revive the club's visioning process and give members a platform to share ideas.

Thank you to all our committee chairs for sharing the work that your committees do! Our club owes a lot to all your dedication and hard work!
