We are all thinking of Margaret Trainorwho is in hospital. President Marva visited Margaret right after our Christmas Luncheon and delivered our greeting cards with heartfelt wishes from club members.
OUR CHRISTMAS LUNCH
What a happy occasion it was on December 19th, with a really good turnout at the Guelph Country Club where we enjoyed an excellent meal, wonderful fellowship, and joyful singing of Christmas song favourites.
As usual, our Rotary friend of some 40 years, John Zadro, provided lovely background music on his keyboard and accompanied our singing. To honour his long relationship with our club, and his appreciation for all that Rotary does, John has made a significant donation to our Rotary Foundation. Thank you, John!
An extra highlight at our luncheon was Rosemary presenting a congratulatory bouquet to Lucy Kariuki, a research student currently attending UofG from the University of Kenyatta. Lucy was a Rotaractor at her university in Kenya and she has been embraced by our local Rotary community. Lucy has successfully completed her degree work here and will now finalize her research paper comparing how Kenya and Canada dispose of and recycle plastic … a very important topic!
