NO CLUB MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2026.

Enjoy the Labour Day long weekend!

__________

HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR LAST MEETING

  • ShelterBox update and appeal was shared to raise awareness about multiple global disasters and communities in crisis. Read the story on our home page.

  • “BE OUR GUEST” card was introduced, making it easier to invite potential Rotarians to a Friday lunch meeting, with the club paying for their lunch. See details here. Hopefully, a great introduction will lead to a Membership Proposal and you'll find the form in the Membership Committee page in the same place, here.

  • An update on CLUB FELLOWSHIP EVENTS was given by Noma Vales. See details here  and click on Fellowship. A wonderful annual calendar is in place, with some fun outings coming up soon - emails will be sent to members for registering their participation.

  • The next “COMMUNITY CONNECTONS” meeting hosted by Guelph Rotary (Anne Day, Terrie Jarvis, and Ann Caine) takes place on Thursday morning, September 10, 2026. Over 50 nonprofits and charities have registered to attend this networking event provided by Rotary as a free community service.

  • Our Club Treasurer for the past 25 years, Trevor Lee, is retiring from the role and our member Ben McCarl is taking over.

  • Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 6pm … Rotary Club of Guelph's 46th annual Lobsterfest at the Italian Canadian Club. TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE.  Event Chair Patrick Grist reminds us to help promote the event by boosting ticket sales. The event promises to be exceptional this year! A new “Larry the Lobster” made a surprise appearance, test-riding a bicylce that will be available in the auction at Lobsterfest.
