Annette was educated in Dublin, Quebec City and Toronto. Thirty years ago, she married fellow Rotarian, Peter, and they have a son Peter and a daughter Kathleen. Peter and Annette move to Guelph earlier this year and live on Paisley Road. This delightful lady enjoys politics, documentaries, the Toronto Maple Leafs and anything to do with Royal history.  Annette will be a wonderful addition to our club.
  • Kristel Manes – proposer Tracey McGrath. Our speaker from May 25th, Kristel is the executive director of the Guelph-Wellington Business Centre and has decided that she enjoyed the atmosphere and Rotarians so much she would join us in our fellowship and many Projects. Tracey McGrath warmly introduced Kristel Manes as a special friend, an awesome human being, a dedicated and loyal business professional, mother of two girls, community builder, founder of the Rhyze Project, former director of Innovation Guelph, and since April this year, the Executive Director of the Guelph-Wellington Business Centre. Having heard her speak to us about her work with entrepreneurs, she will fit in well here.
President Marty warmly welcomed our 4 new members, reminding them of the Ideal of Rotary service and our motto of Service Above Self.  Membership in Rotary is an honour and privilege with corresponding duties and obligations, including serving on club  committees, attendance at our regular Friday meetings and obeying the club’s constitution and bylaws, wearing their Rotary pins with pride particularly at Rotary events. Marty  invited the club to welcome and pledge to extend their friendship along with helping to make their membership a useful and happy experience.

Ab Moore - An email was received from Ibrahim Yaouba, our guest from Cameroon,  as he and Chin were having their last double-double to say thank you again for hosting their wonderful visit in Wiarton and Guelph

Tom Funk - Having been around for 27 years, Tom mention that in 1990 the club had 201 members, in 2017 there were 128 members and in 2018 we have 133. The club is growing again. This year we added 15 new members, 5 of which came from internet inquiries

Victoria Meadows - Visiting the Toronto Convention and attending the Milton event last week encouraged hers and Chris to come out to Guelph to attend our meeting. They were suitably impressed by all that we do and thanked us for being gracious hosts. She invited anyone who happens to go to the west coast to attend their event, Oysterfest, in Shelton, Washington the first week of October every year.

Aldo Vilanovich - Giving his thanks for the warm welcome to our club, he made a small mistake by mentioning his new name for our Sergeant-at-Arms “Blinky”. We all assured him that he’d pay for that.

Michele Richardson - Nine more volunteers were needed for Canada Day. Please sign up

Mike Schreiner - Our newly minted Member of Provincial Parliament, said Thank You to everyone for your confidence and congratulations. Although it means he won’t be able to attend so often, he will be doing his best for all the citizens of Guelph in Toronto.

For the final time as President, Marty reminisced by presenting a series of pictures of events which stood out for him during the year. Those who worked, those who served, those who achieved and those who passed away.
Marty passed the gavel and the bell over to Paul Dredge along with exchanging Presidential pins.

Paul thanked Marty and gave him a beautiful orange and Black Rotary jacket and a $100 certificate to Shakespeare Arms in appreciation for his club service.
