On October 28th, 2022 our Rotary Club proudly welcomed and inducted three new members: Ranjeet Shinde, Aidan Harris and Margaret Trainor, seen here with Michele Richardson (left) and president elect Nanita Mohan (right).
Ranjeet Shinde
Ranjeet comes from a farming and rural background in India.  He is in his final semester of a Ph.D. in Horticulture at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Agricultural College. As a social worker, Ranjeet ran a non-profit secondary school in India and worked as a Director for a Hospital (NGO) in his hometown. He is excited about contributing to Guelph and the community.

Aidan Harris
Aidan is a political science master’s candidate studying at the University of Guelph. Born and raised in Guelph, Aidan has attended many Rotary events and meetings over the years with his grandmother, Margaret Trainor. Aidan aspires to work in public policy as an analyst or advisor at the provincial or federal level. In either position, his desire is to aid in the development of new public policies that will alleviate intersecting social issues and reflect the changing values of a diversifying Canadian society. Aidan wants to join our club to give back to the community and to help those in our society that are in need. He believes that everyone should have equal access to resources and opportunities.

Margaret Trainor
Margaret is a wonderful returning Rotarian. She was invited to join the Rotary Club of Guelph over 30 years ago and was sponsored by Fred Black. As a business owner in the community, she was more than ready to "give back".  Margaret was owner of Harmony House Retirement home, Complete Seniors services and eventually Meals To Go Catering for Seniors.  She has sat on and chaired many committees including Canada Day, membership, attendance, Lobsterfest and Sparkles.  Margaret moved to the London area, joined the Rotary Club of London North and served as President of that club 4 times! In addition, Margaret has been involved in District positions. Happily, she is back in Guelph and itching to get working again with this "always in her heart” club.
