Our former club member, Joan Mitges, passed away on May 22, 2025 at the age of 85. She was an active member of the Rotary Club of Guelph for 18 years from 1993 to 2011.
Joan spent her life devoted to helping and bringing joy to people through her nursing career, as a Rotarian, volunteering with many organizations, through her art and her unwavering love of life and sense of humour.
Joan is remembered for her deep and enduring friendships and extraordinary community service, including chairing the Guelph Multicultural Festival, supporting the local launch of Lifeline (emergency medical call button for seniors), supporting the Guelph Enabling Garden, Guelph Arts Council, Guelph General Hospital … and more.
