The Public school award winners will be announced at their fall commencement ceremonies.

The covering letter that accompanies each award is as follows:

Every year, the Rotary Club of Guelph recognizes students from each Guelph Secondary School to receive our recognition and congratulations for significant achievement in the face of challenges.  You have been recommended by your teachers and school community as an excellent candidate deserving of this award.

The Rotary Motto of "Service Above Self" guided past Rotarian Gary Tatum, in whose honour this award is named.  Gary worked selflessly as a Rotarian in our Guelph community, as do millions of other Rotarians all over the world.  We are incredibly pleased to honour you at this time and trust that you will continue to be successful in whatever path you choose.

We hope that the monetary award which comes along with your Certificate of Achievement will be helpful in furthering your life’s path. We will acknowledge your receipt of this award on our Rotary Club of Guelph website rotaryguelph.ca.

Someday, you might become a Rotarian yourself and continue to offer “Service Above Self”. On your certificate, we have also noted Rotary International’s “Four Way Test" that guides Rotarians everywhere.

1.  Is it the Truth
2.  Is it Fair to all concerned?
3.  Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
4.  Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

We hope that these four guiding principles will stay with you throughout your life.

Yours sincerely,
Judith Martin
