RCOG: Professor David Hughes
The future of food

Professor David Hughes - also known as Dr. Food – is an international speaker on global food and drink industry issues. His talk will focus on how the food industry is preparing for a post-Covid world. “It depends which country you’re in,” says Dr. David Hughes, emeritus professor of food marketing at Imperial College, London, England.

Dr. Hughes will share predictions on:

  • Grocery store price-wars that will hurt the industry but could benefit consumers
  • Whether meal-delivery service, which saw a huge spike during Covid, will continue post-Covid
  • The future of meal-kit delivery services, allowing people to assemble meals at home
  • The desire for more “planet friendly” diets
