Use your Superpowers to lead the recovery

Our first program of 2021 will set a very high standard for those that follow. Our presenter is Mike Lipkin, president of Environics/Lipkin a global research and motivation company based in Toronto. His topic will be “Use your Superpowers to Lead the Recovery.” In this virtual keynote, Mike will guide us through the ten key forces shaping the immediate future and coach us on how to develop our superpowers for success: Conviction, Charisma and Conditioning. This will be an informative and entertaining presentation. The program begins at 12:15 pm but the site will be open at 12:00 noon for informal fellowship.

The future of Rotary

Jennifer Jones, the Rotary International President Elect for 2022-23, will be speaking at the regular ZOOM meeting of the Rotary Club of Brampton on January 11 at 12 noon. We are very proud to have a Canadian as the first woman President of R.I.
President Dittie Voegele of the Rotary Club of Brampton is pleased to invite all District 7080 Rotarians, and a few others as well, to hear Jennifer speak on 'The Future of Rotary'.
Jennifer is a former Vice-President of Rotary International and was a Trustee of the Rotary Foundation, until selected as the President Nominee.
She has received many honours and recognitions including Rotary’s Service-Above-Self Award and the Citation for Meritorious Service, the YMCA Peace Medallion, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and Wayne State University’s Peacemaker of the Year Award – a first for a Canadian.

This week we will get Up Close with Jolly Bedi. Jolly relocated to Canada (Guelph) from India in 1995. Upon moving, she decided to pursue her studies at Conestoga College and obtained a diploma in human resources. Jolly worked with the Ministry of Transportation for a decade before opening up her own business. Currently, Jolly is a successful business entrepreneur, running two Pita Pit stores alongside her husband. Jolly is a co-founder of the Guelph Punjabi Cultural Group, which has raised over $40,000 towards local organizations - the Guelph Food Bank, Guelph Sikh Society, Children's Foundation of Guelph and the Guelph General Hospital. The program begins at 1215 pm but the site will open at 1200 noon for informal fellowship. This week's program will also have a special celebration for SPARKLES 2020. |

This week we will hear from Patti Lovett-Reid. Most people in Canada are familiar with Ms. Lovett-Reid through her daily financial updates on CTV Morning Live, Canada AM, CP24 and CTV News Channel. She is also a regular contributor on BNN Bloomberg. Ms. Lovett-Reid is a Certified Financial Planner who follows and explains market trends in an understandable manner. We will all learn a lot from her presentation at Rotary this week. The program begins at 1215 pm, but the site is open at noon for informal socializing. |

Heart Health Awareness

Rich Peverley is a former Bruin/Predator hockey player, Stanley Cup Winner, and Development Co-ordinator for the Dallas Stars. On March 10, 2014, his life changed forever when he collapsed on the bench during an NHL game and was carried to a nearby hallway where he was revived by doctors and paramedics after his heart rate flatlined for approximately two minutes.
