Community Hubs for Youth Wellness
Aug. 10, 2018
What are Youth Wellness Hubs? In February 2017, the Ontario government announced funding for up to nine integrated service hubs province-wide to address the gaps in the province’s youth service system. These hubs will specifically target the needs of youth aged 12-25 as fully integrated “one-stop-shops” for mental health, substance use, primary care, education/employment/training, housing and other community and social services. These new hubs will also include peer services, outreach, and system navigation services. Services will emphasize quality and will be timely, integrated and co-located. |

Diagnostic Imaging
Sep. 07, 2018
Dr. Samir PatelChief of Diagnostic Imaging at Guelph General Hospital
I am a physician at Guelph General Hospital, and currently the chief of Diagnostic Imaging at GGH, which provides me a front row seat to the dramatic impact donors make. Diagnostic Imaging is highly dependent on new technology and the community’s support in providing this cutting edge equipment allows us to provide world class imaging locally, right in our community. And the same extends to all the various departments throughout the Hospital. Experiencing first hand how critical donors are to the care of patients in our community is what drives me to volunteer my time as a board member on the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital. |

During the darkest days of the year, Rotary transforms Guelph’s Riverside Park into a winter wonderland of lights and displays, open to the community, all culminating is a well-attended New Year's Eve fireworks display. Sponsorship by local business and donations by visitors ensure that this event is sustainable year to year, and excess revenues go directly into community service projects without any administration cost.
